How to get there
By plane
There are two airports near Tübingen; one in Frankfurt, and one in Stuttgart.
Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is about 200 km from Tübingen. At Frankfurt Airport you will find a train station for long distance trains. You will need to take a train to Stuttgart’s main railway station, and then change trains to get to Tübingen. The Inter-City-Express trains (ICE) leave every two hours to Stuttgart railway station and Euro-City trains (EC) leave every hour. In the case of Euro-City trains, you have to change trains in Mannheim. It will take about an hour to get from Frankfurt Airport to Stuttgart. The German Railway Information System contains detailed and searchable time tables. You may buy your ticket on the website or at the station. From the Stuttgart station, you may continue as described in the section "By train" below.
Stuttgart Airport
Stuttgart Airport is about 40 km away from Tübingen. From there, you may continue by shuttle, train, or taxi.
Continue by shuttle
A shuttle called "Airport-Sprinter", Line 828, runs between the airport and the central bus station of Tübingen every 30 minutes. The bus stop is located on the ground floor outside the airport building (follow the signs for ground transportation). You can buy your ticket (6,40 Euros; reduced prices available for Bahncard holders) on the bus. The journey takes about an hour. The central bus station of Tübingen is located in front of the Tübingen railway station. From there, you may continue to the KMRC by taxi, bus, or on foot as described below.
For your way back to Stuttgart Airport, the Airport-Sprinter leaves the central bus station of Tübingen on Track L every half an hour on Monday through Saturday and every hour on Sunday. Continue by train
The airport is connected to the main railway station of Stuttgart by the "S-Bahn", Line S2 and Line S3. You will find the S-Bahn trains on the ground floor of the airport building. Trains operate from 5:00 a.m. to midnight every 10 (Line S2) and 20 (Line S3) minutes. It will take you about 30 minutes to get to Stuttgart main station, where you will need to change trains to Tübingen. From there, you may continue as described in the “By train” section below.
Continue by taxis
Taxis are located right in front of the airport. The costs for the ride to Tübingen (and back to the airport) are about 40 Euros.
By train from Stuttgart main station
Trains depart frequently from Stuttgart for Tübingen. The German Railway Information System contains detailed and searchable time tables. You may buy your ticket (11.40 Euros) on the website and print it out yourself or at the station, either at a machine or at the ticket office (Reisebüro). Exit the train at Tübingen central station (Hauptbahnhof).
By train from other locations

Continue by bus or taxi to the KMRC:
Walk to the main exit of the station building. The taxi rank is immediately in front of the station, toward the left of the building as you are exiting. The bus station is on the opposite side of the street (also in front of the station). From Platform B, take the #2 bus towards “Mühlbachäcker”. Exit the bus at the bus stop called “Landespolizeidirektion”. You are now on Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. Walk a bit in the driving direction of the bus; the KMRC is the white building at number 40 on the right hand-side of the road.
Continue on foot to the KMRC:
It will take you approximately 10-15 minutes to walk from Tübingen’s main railway station to the KMRC. Get off the train at Tübingen Hauptbahnhof and leave the pedestrian tunnel under the station by its south exit. Walk up the stairs at the end of the tunnel and turn right. Walk along the Hegelstrasse until you reach a bus stop at the intersection with the Derendinger Strasse. Here, turn left. At the second intersection, turn right onto Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. The KMRC is the white building at number 40 on the right-hand side of the road.
By car
From Stuttgart/A 8:
Leave the A 8 at junction 52b signposted “Stuttgart Degerloch” and follow the B 27 motorway heading towards Tübingen. Take the exit "Tübingen Mitte". Follow this road (Reutlinger Strasse, changing into Hegelstrasse). At a large intersection with traffic lights, turn right, following the sign “Regierungspraesidium”. This road leads you under a railway viaduct and then makes a sharp left turn. At the next intersection, turn right onto Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. The KMRC is the white building at #40 (Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse) on the right-hand side of the road.
From Singen/A 81:
Leave the A 81 at junction 29 signposted “Rottenburg” and turn left towards Tübingen. In Tübingen, turn left onto route B 28 signposted “Reutlingen/Stuttgart”. Choose the right lane and take the exit “Derendingen/Arbeitsamt”. At the second intersection, turn right onto Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. The KMRC is the white building at #40 (Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse) on the right-hand side of the road.
